Our Communities Support Our Avalanche Center!

Did you know that 50% of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center's annual budget comes from donations and community support? Every year, the Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center host several fundraising events which directly support the work of our avalanche forecasters. Detailed information can be found in the Sawtooth Avalanche Center’s 2014/2015 Annual Report, and in the Friends Newsletter.

The Friends bring together board members and community volunteers to achieve our fundraising goals through the following events:

Fall Mail Campaign

Sign up for our Fall Mail Campaign at to receive information about upcoming events and donate to the Avalanche Center.

SCHOOLED Series Snowmobile Movies

In its sixth year, SCHOOLED continues to deliver industry-leading instruction mixed with epic backcountry footage. Come see some amazing snowmobile footage from the mountains of Idaho and elsewhere. Woodside Motorsports will have some of the latest sleds out front, Whiskey Jacques is hosting the video and the Friends are throwing the party this November. Stay tuned for details.

The Baldy Big Dump Party

A pre-season party to listen to stories and speculate about snowfall. Dinner, drinks and entertainment, a product raffle, and a grand prize for the person that properly predicts the powder! November 21. More details to follow!

Incredible Raffle and Silent Auction at Banff Mountain Film Festival

With 10,000 in prizes and a chance to win a heliski trip for two, this raffle is worth a try. Every year the Friends host an incredible raffle at the Banff Mountain Film Festival with raffle sales and drawings both nights, as well as a silent auction filled with local artwork. All proceeds benefit the Avalanche Center. January 29, 30 and 31, 2016 at NextStage Theatre.

We couldn't do it without you!
