Field Day: Introduction to Avalanches
January 30, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
The location is TBD but generally, we spend the day near the SNRA and Galena Pass.
Join the Friends of the SAC instructors for a field day covering avalanche rescue basics, snowpack layering, avalanche terrain identification, and other basic snow and avalanche concepts. This field class is a great way to get your feet “wet” before you take a L1 class! Sign up for the class at the Friends’ Thursday night online session.
There is a $40 suggested donation to the Friends of the SAC to cover instructor costs.
Please arrive ready to spend the day outside in the snow traveling on skis, a splitboard, or snowshoes.
