WEATHER OBSERVATIONS
HN24: 0 HST: 0 Sky: CLR Precip: Temps:
Ridgeline Wind: Light from the NW
Blowing Snow: None Snow Available for Transport: None
Comments: Warm air temps, tshirt and shorts weather.
AVALANCHE OBSERVATIONS
None Reported
 Comments: No new slides observed.
SNOWPACK OBSERVATIONS
HS: 80-90cm on shaded and solars around 9000'. See pit for SW. Traveled mostly in thick trees so all snow longwave affected.
Upper Pack: Exposed NE slope near ridge blown down to polished old crust sandwich. ECTp x2 on well developed FC below second crust. This result seems very isolated based on other travels and obs.
 Middle Pack: Solid 4F+
Lower Pack: Well developed DH with chains but has been healing and was 4F. Did not fail on any extended whacks beyond 30 on ECT.
AVALANCHE PROBLEM ASSESSMENT

Sensitivity:
Unreactive

Spatial Distribution:

Terrain
Primary Concern Comments: Did not encounter this as a problem today. Surface crust was breaking down with free water in top few cms on S/SW while i was there early afternoon but small >40° test slopes near rocks produced no results. Even with warmer temps today I don't think this area would have produced any natural or human triggered slides. Might be a different story if it didn't get a clear sky freeze overnight and inversion kept things above freezing for awhile. New snow below warmed surface was borderline moist.
STABILITY TESTS
Stability Test Results: ECTP's below crust on NE.

BOTTOM LINE
Comments: Inversion impressively faceted out small forest openings in valley bottom with surface FC and SH on shaded slopes and flats. Wet loose was not an issue even in steep, rocky solars. Did not note any wet loose activity in Owl or W. Fork Prairie.
