PROFESSIONAL OBSERVATION FORM
Start Date: 03.05.18 Name: VandenBos Operation: SAC
Drainage/Route:  Hyndman Creek Observed Terrain:   Zone/Region:  Wood River Valley
WEATHER OBSERVATIONS
 HN24: HST: Sky: Precip: Temps:
Ridgeline Wind: Moderate and Steady from the NW
Blowing Snow: L Snow Available for Transport:
Comments: Afternoon outing. Cold, NW winds were finding enough snow to build small slabs in exposed terrain. Partly to mostly cloudy morning gave way to mostly clear conditions in the late morning in the WRV.
AVALANCHE OBSERVATIONS
None Reported
Comments: Once again, too many to list individually. Natural avalanches on all aspects and elevations that I observed, though low and middle elevation slides were more likely on slopes on the cold half of the compass. Several slides had run full track to Hyndman Creek. Many crowns were impressively wide and well connected, in places spanning several hundred to well over one thousand feet wide. See photos.
