BOTTOM LINE
Comments: Coastal feel out there today - lots of moist or damp snow near the surface, but no truly wet snow due to cloud cover. I didn't see any signs of instability in my travels. Looking forward, the dry, soft snow on NW-N-NE aspects will not react well to rain (if the forecasted rain event happens). The margins (W/NW through W/SW and E/NE through E/SE) have some crusts in the upper part of the snowpack and should probably take more rain to become unstable...but they have worse structure (several weak layers) 20-50cm below the surface and may be a bigger issue if/when they become active. If we get a lot of rain >7500' the next few days, things will get interesting in the Soldiers.
