AVALANCHE OBSERVATIONS
None Reported
Comments: One recent D.5 in the Boulder foothills in a heavily wind loaded area. One pretty significant (better than D2 probably, but the light was bad and I was looking from a ways away) in the headwaters of the North Fork of the Big Wood.
SNOWPACK OBSERVATIONS
 HS: 40-60cm
Upper Pack: Snow from 12/11 until now, with a buried MFcr near the surface on solar aspects
Middle Pack: Thanksgiving storm snow. FC -> DH
 Lower Pack: Sagebrush, grass, rocks.
AVALANCHE PROBLEM ASSESSMENT
Avalanche Characteristics
Character/Avalanche Problem:
Persistent Slab

Layer/Depth:

Likelihood of Triggering
Sensitivity:

Spatial Distribution:

Terrain
Primary Concern Comments: Exists in most places except low elevation solars and heavily wind-cleaned slopes.
STABILITY TESTS
 Stability Test Results:
OBVIOUS SIGNS OF INSTABILITY
 Marked with checkmark if observed:
 Cracking (widespread)
 Collapsing (widespread)
Comments: Nearly continuous collapsing. I thought it would be fun to count how many collapses I got, and then I got pretty bored of counting the entire time. One stand-out collapse in the old growth on goat propagated ~100' in all directions and flushed out 8-9 bedded grouse.
