We threw 15 charges into various wind loaded areas today in anticipation of cat ski trips this weekend. Only one created minor sloughing of new snow. We have numerous reports of 2 slides on the S and SE facing slopes of peak 1 one of them running 1,000'. We have had heavy wind loading on these slopes and reports stated that they slid on the thinner snowpack. There are a few hard slabs in the wind loaded bowls, but overall the cold snow is still not cohesive and skiing great.

Wind loaded slopes and shallower areas should be avoided. Our deeper areas are skiing well, 15 charges produced no avalanches on both the upper cat ski area and the lift served area. There are still pockets out there that will produce large slides, but we haven't experienced anything large in our area.
