A fresh crop of surface hoar was widespread (although small and somewhat spotty) in this area. Overall snow depths ranged from 80-130 cm. About 20-25 cm of recent snow sat atop a crust (on sunny slopes) and small facets (north slopes). These layers seemed to be bonding well to the underlying snow. The objective of this field day was weather station maintenance so snowpack observations are limited.
Sunny in the morning with increasing clouds in the afternoon. No wind at this sheltered location and no obvious blowing snow along Titus Ridge upon exit at 4PM.
Few, very small wet loose avalanches along roadcuts on the pass.
