Decided to just get out and see what is happening with the snow around Copper.
It was 14 degrees at the highway at 10:30
Most travel was on about 10-15cm HS up the normal route.
7300 ft W aspect SH was present, 7400ft SW aspect had a 2cm crust, the rest of the way up to 8900ft SH was very present on S, W, and North aspects.
North side of Copper looks to have had some wind blow through it. It also had SH but were a little bit small in grain size. SH gain size on the way up ranged from .5-1.5cm . Dropped down into the saddle between Copper and Copper Proper dug a pit. This area had amazing garden of huge SH 2-2.5cm.
8700ft N at 1300
HS 61cm
61-59 SH
59-57.5 MF crust 1.5cm
57.5-40cm T-day storm snow
40-36cm hard MF crust 4cm
36-0cm 2mm Facets rotted out old snow.
With the new snow coming this area is going have a few issues to watch out for as it get more snow on it.
