Went for a little ski up Horse Creek. Went up the summer trail for 10-15 min before starting up a sub-ridge on the NE side of the draw. When we approached the back side of Mushroom Ridge, we ran into a bunch of horizontal benches that looked like road cuts (what are those?!). The overall slope angle was somewhere around 20*-22*, but because of the benches, we hit pockets of 28*-30*. Between each little bench the snow whumphed and collapsed, but didn't move because it was so low angle. Very unnerving, so we played it safe and stuck to low angle terrain. Apologies for lack of images, low/flat light made the snow surface hard to capture.
