Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

We skied the chute on the N side of the funnel. Traversed west and began climbing one of the next chutes when we observed significant settlement on the apron below the chutes. Twice we had the snowfield on the apron settle widely with whomphing and shooting cracks. It was difficult to tell whether this was the recent storm snow with wind loading or a deeper persistent layer as we got off the slope quickly
