Went for a mellow walkabout to check out snow conditions and ski some low-angle powder. Dug a pit on an E aspect @ 8900', HS = 70 cm. Unsurprisingly got an ECTP4 result on the extremely faceted snow beneath. The 15-20 cm of new snow since Wednesday night was still very soft and has not stiffened into a real slab in this area (sheltered from the wind).
