I dug a pit on mushroom, 8600', east aspect, 28 degrees rolling off to 35.
85cm total, 5" new
35cm large 4mm facets from ground up to decomposing MF crust, 1-2 mm up to new snow.
ECT 20 did not propogate
fairly good test, but I didn't trust it. With all that junk on the ground, if it goes it's going to be huge.
We skied an east nose cautiously and it was very good, about a foot ski penetration.
Around 8400' we started to feel the recent rain crust. No collapsing on the hill but plenty on the creek bed
gorgeous day!
