Observations

We skied slightly steep western aspects ridges on Horton peak. It was cloudy and very cold when we started and got sunny and very warm throughout the day, the snow below 8k is a nasty 2in breakable crust over facets but above 8k all the way to summit was creamy powder our first run was very effortless and very fun. on our way back up for our second run the sun really affected the snow gooping up our skins pretty bad. And we noticed a sun crust starting to develop on our second time down. It might be very crusty on western and southern aspects tomorrow. We observed some avalanches crowns most likely from Tuesday storm but didn’t observe any avalanches when we were there.
