Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Dug and Observed a snow pit on the Banner Summit, Copper Mountain at 7815feet elevation on the SW aspect of a 15 degree slope at 1500 hours, sky conditions OVC. Wind speed is Low coming from W/SW. Temp 17 degrees.
No observed avalanche activity.

Possible to trigger a D3 in all aspects at upper elevation.
Tried to avoid steep, rocky, windswept terrain
Red Flags: New snow
No wind. Little bit of surface hoar.

1meter slab on top of weak sugary facet. No propagation. Increase risk due to expected fresh snow.

Descended on West aspect of skin track.
