Rode in sheltered terrain with the steepest being under 40 degrees. We rode on north facing slopes and were cautious on wind blown ridges and steeper wind affected slopes. Everything we skied felt very safe and we didn’t see anything that showed signs of deeper snowpack instability.
Advanced Observations
Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Wind Slab
Comments:
On wind affected ridges above 8500ft we found very small isolated slabs 6-10 cm thick. These slabs were reactive and easy to trigger with the weight of a human.
