4-5 inches of (initially) dry new snow on top of the ridge this morning. A stout crust was present beneath the new snow and we could still feel it a bit beneath the new snow while skiing on a NW aspect. Biggest surprise of the day was that it was much sunnier than forecasted. Pretty much unobstructed sunshine for the duration of our tour (10:00-14:00), with the new snow feeling the heat by noon on many aspects. The high peaks of the Boulders started out in clouds but also received substantial sunshine during the day. The Sawtooths remained more socked in, especially to the north.
