We ski toured the Twin Bowls area in the Galena Summit zone today with Sawtooth Mountain Guides Rec Avalanche Level 1. Elevation ranged from 7900 to 9120 feet. Skied NE to N facing slopes. We did not observe persistent weak layer, fresh wind slabs or wet loose avalanches. Dug a few haste pits along Twin Bowls ridge and found two faceted layers 1 ~3" deep and the other ~6" deep. It took some force to get movement on the lower layer. These layers were not observed on the more northly aspects. Surface hoar observed on non wind scoured aspects. Scattered cloud clover with no wind.
