Gladiator Peak. Skied between 7,300' and 10,200'. Travelled on SW - S - SE aspects. Max slope angle upper 30s. Left car at 11:15 and returned at 16:15.
We walked from the lodge, out the nordic trails and up the west ridge. The snow was definitely getting moist and we had some skin glop issues. The ridge was corny but once we started the final ascent it got really windy (west wind) and the snow was no longer corn. The surface ranged from slick crust to the more chalky surface. The summit was very windy but there was not much snow moving around. On the descent, it was punchy crust for the first 400 feet and then once we got on a SW aspect it was beautiful corn.
