Shallow snowpack (33-50cm) with several cm of DH at the bottom and multiple melt-freeze crusts above it.
Multiple, wet loose point release avalanches from last week's warm, sunny days.
Dug multiple test pits on multiple aspects and elevations, all of which failed on DH. Many of these occurred during isolation. HS was significantly higher at lower elevations below shade line, and results were poorer.
Goal was to observe current, non-skier compacted South facing slopes. Terrain is currently outside of Bald Mountain's boundary, but will be in bounds beginning next year.
