General Information

This large, gouging wet snow avalanche was observed in the Boulder Mountains on a SW-facing slope at 9,700'. It started at a point and quickly gouged through the wet snowpack to the ground, entraining significant amounts of snow, mud, dirt, and rock as it traveled downslope.
