I did a quick roadside observation mission to check snow totals, rain levels, and how moist/wet the snow got on different elevations and aspects. Rain fell below about 6800', snow accumulated above about 7500', and there was mostly wet glop in between those elevations. Around 8200' and below, there were wet loose snow avalanche concerns with the surface snow. Closer to 8700', the new snow stayed dry on shady aspects and was becoming moist on solar aspects. From what I saw, loose snow avalanche issues were limited today near pass level.
0-15cm (0-6") new snow since last night, highly dependent on elevation. Almost no wind along HWY 75 throughout the precipitation.
Only rain to Phantom Hill (6500'), rain-snow mix 6500-7000' (Prairie Ck parking), snow above that.
Below 8200': all aspects getting moist at surface/within new snow, "oozing" and rollerballs on very steep solar slopes.
8700' (Galena Summit): around 15cm (6") settled new snow, staying dry on more northerly aspects and getting moist/close to being a wet loose issue on NW-W-S-E aspects.
