Signs of Unstable Snow

Recent Avalanches?
Yes
Cracking?
Isolated
Collapsing?
None Experienced
I didn't dig in the snow today, but experienced high winds with lots of moving snow. Many drifts in uncommon areas and huge drifts in common areas. Generally mid elevation travel and experienced some shallow cracking of wind loaded pillows areas that we don't often see drifts of any size.

Snow Stability

Stability Rating:
Fair
Confidence in Rating:
Moderate
Stability Trend:
Worsening

Bottom Line

Considerable hazard rating in wind loaded areas. There is a lot of low angle terrain available with a ton of snow that has sifted through the trees and landed in isolated pockets, have some fun here without concern of avalanches. DO stay out from under big slopes that will fail from the added weight and stress of the wind deposited snow.
