Signs of Unstable Snow

Recent Avalanches?
Yes
Cracking?
None Experienced
Collapsing?
None Experienced
Cracking and collapsing are N/A

Bottom Line

Wet issues were limited today: some small avalanches, and not that widespread. The debris piles on Easley Pk and in the Eagle Ck headwall were larger (D1.5-2) and appeared to be dry. With the flat light, I probably did not see some recent slides.

NE 6700
D1 WL N-Natural One just below summit that started next to a big exposed rock, one farther down the ridge to the north around 6000'. None
1 Big Wood River - north end of KOA Chutes opposite Gimlet
E
D1 WL N-Natural started below 7000' in the rocks or trees, unknown exact elevation None
1 Eagle Ck Headwall
SW 8900
D1.5 SS N-Natural Strange looking slide in an interesting location in the bottom of one of the headwall cirques. Debris looks dry and relatively fresh, maybe a small persistent slab from the past couple days?
Eagle Ck Headwall: SW 8900'.
1 Silver Ck
SW alpine
D1 WL N-Natural Generic, small WL slide coming out of the rocks. None
3 Big Wood River - across from Durance
NW 6600
D1 WL N-Natural Small dribbles in steep, rocky terrain. None
3 Newman Ck - upper cirque
S alpine
D1 WL N-Natural D1 or 1.5, could only see the tracks and debris looking at them from the side. They came out of a rocky area. None
1 Easley Pk
SW 9400
D2 N-Natural Another odd slide. Flat light, but an obvious D2 debris pile. Debris looked dry, and I could not see a crown or the point where it originated. It came from the looker's right starting zone/fork of this path - evidence of smear marks in the rocks in the track.
Easley Peak: debris from slide on SW aspect.
3 Murdock Ck
SW 9400
D1 WL N-Natural Small dribbles on W, SW in Murdock Ck, on the east side of the drainage. None
