Observations

Great skiing around Mushroom Ridge, snow density started to increase at approx 8500 ft, with a few thin crusts forming on steeper, sun-exposed aspects. Conditions consistent with the forecast.

This thin avalanche appears to have been triggered by a skier. Based on the depth, it's that it released on a weak snow layer beneath recent snowfall. NE aspect at 9,100'. Photo: K. Ellwanger
