Observations

This is my first time in this area I usually ride near bear lake. We seen no signs of instability all day and this was the last basin we hit as we were headed back to the truck. I had already went across this slope on my left side but decided to turn around and went below my tracks on my right side and half way across the basin the snow broke right below my left ski and all the way across the basin. It ran around 300 feet and it was deep in areas where the trees would allow the snow to stack on top of itself.
