Avy 2 class, toured out from Galena pass, skiing a NW slope around 9,200' first, then finished our tour on a SE facing slope down to ~ 8,600'. Given the avalanche forecast, we opted to ski slopes under 35 degrees. No observed instability throughout our tour. We did not encounter crust on northerly aspects, but did find it widespread on E & SE aspects.

Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Persistent Slab
Comments:
In a nearby location on 2/10, we observed a PWL in the upper snowpack in a snow pit. Did not observe this layer or any signs of instability associated with this layer today.
