Nice day out the ridge. Mixed bag of weather, with intermittent snow squalls, sun windows, and a strengthening west wind over the course of the morning/early afternoon. Winds were becoming strong enough to transport loose snow, though there was not a ton available for transport at ridge level. Soft snow was found on shadier aspects, while the solars had a thin crust from the last couple sunny days. On steeper terrain (e.g. Lake Chutes) we were able to produce small sluffs in the dry surface snow on steeper rolls. These didn't take us surprise, but they did reinforce our decision to ski in "cleaner" terrain free of cliffs and other hazards below.
