Observations

Saw numerous avalanches. One covered the road near Thompson Cr. 8-9 feet of debris. Road and Bridge cleared it this last week. Slides were observed where they never have in recent memory. Cornice formation on ridge tops from last storm.
Surprisingly there was no cracking, whoomphing, or other signs of instability. Mid and low elevation had a 3 inch crust. Upper elevation was still quality snow. Very conservative travel today. No slopes in the magic number were hit. It will be interesting what the incoming snow will do to this pack.
