I climbed and skied the west arm of Galena Peak. It was very windy on the ridge top. What little snow there was up there was being transported by north winds. I did not see cracking or hear collapsing, but I would expect to find large wind slabs on southern aspects where the majority of snow was being deposited. Above treeline the snow was mostly stripped from the ridges and bowls, except on south and east facing aspects. The snow below treeline was creamy powder that skied well.
