3 separate skier initiated wet snow ball/point sluff to slab release from developed cornice at top of Avy Peak. East aspect. -9200'. Each slide started as snow ball/point release, slab crowns 4" depth (over night and morning snow total then compressed by temperature and solar heating, propagating ~5-10' wide crowns, spreading to ~50-60' width and running ~200-250' in length (toes obscured by trees.)
None reported
New, wet snow accumulation on existing frozen, granular/corn base. Easily observed from parking area. Skin track up south aspect staying in trees on steep. Temperature ~32* and warming and cloudy at departure. Light wind from NNE? Second lap, noticable clearing, probably 5-7* temperature increase, solar radiation with much greater snow saturation.
