Our Mission
Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center (SAC) is a non-profit organization that provides over 50% of our local avalanche center’s annual funding. Our mission is to support the SAC and promote life-saving avalanche safety information, education and outreach throughout central Idaho. Join us in driving our mission forward, realizing our vision, and building the best avalanche center in the West. The Friends of SAC operate under 501 (c)(3) guidelines.
Why Donate?
The Friends provide over half of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center’s annual operating budget, and we couldn’t do it without YOUR support. Your donations help support our amazing forecast team who produce the fact-filled Daily Avalanche Forecasts we rely upon all winter for safe travel in the backcountry. You help pay for the ever-evolving and information-packed SAC website. And, your contributions help provide essential educational outreach to our community. Every donation, no matter the amount, is so important to helping us meet our mission, and every donation, no matter the amount, could save a life
