Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center (SAC) is a non-profit organization that provides over 50% of our local avalanche center’s annual funding. Our mission is to support the SAC and promote life-saving avalanche safety information, education and outreach throughout central Idaho. Join us in driving our mission forward, realizing our vision, and building the best avalanche center in the West. The Friends of SAC operate under 501 (c)(3) guidelines.

The exclusive Jack Weekes 2021 Homegrown Film Festival hand-pulled screenprints are also available for purchase at for only $100.  The prints are safely stored at Blue Heron Workshop located at 21 N. Comet Lane off Aviation Way in Hailey.  Local Wood River Valley residents can pick up your prints and make framing arrangements with Blue Heron.  Or you can simply pick up your print – there is no framing obligation.  Blue Heron phone number:  208-788-5030.  Shipping arrangements can be made for out of town folks – shipping costs are NOT included in the print cost, and will be collected from the purchaser.

Banff Film Festival | Online

This event is ongoing through the winter!

Banff Mountain Film Festival supports the Wood River Valley by hosting the festival online!


There are two individual programs available with eight to nine films.

Program costs are $15 each.

Once committed, you have three days to view it and watch multiple times.

Films are only available through an internet connection, you cannot download.

If you want to gift a program for, you can. This option will appear on the checkout page.

There is a bundle of both individual programs for a cost of $28.

Once committed, you have 14 days to view the program.

Your purchase helps the local Wood River Valley community.

Net proceeds from this years’ viewings will go to The Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center to help fund forecaster positions.
