Locations

There are four Avalanche Beacon Training Parks in the Wood River Valley. These are installed in the early winter when there is sufficient snow coverage. Please inquire with the maintaining group for more information. Click on the map to see park location and photos.

  1. Baker Creek Trailhead north of Ketchum on Highway 75. Located on the northwest end of the parking area. Maintained by the Sawtooth Avalanche Center.
  2. Christmas Ridge on Bald Mountain. Maintained by the Sun Valley Ski Patrol.
  3. North Face Beacon Park near the top of I-80 on Bald Mountain. Maintained by the Sun Valley Ski Patrol.
  4. Atkinson Park in Ketchum. Maintained by the City of Ketchum.
